Rachel was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated cum laude from Trinity University in 2015 with a B.A. in English and Economics. After several years of working in the real estate industry, she attended law school at SMU Dedman School of Law as a Dean’s Scholar. She obtained her J.D. in May 2021, graduating cum laude and on the Pro Bono Honor Roll. During her time at SMU, she served as Vice President of the Association for Public Interest Law and as a Notes Editor for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. Her case note, Consumer Protections in the Context of Holistic Healthcare, was published in the 2020 edition of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. Throughout law school, she clerked for multiple government entities, including the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the City of Grand Prairie. She also served as a pro bono law clerk for the Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas Community Revitalization Project. Rachel currently serves as the City Attorney for the cities of Benbrook, Seymour, and Cresson.
