ADA AGENDA NOTICES

Because the Americans with Disabilities Act mandates access to public events such as meetings, and likewise requires notice, many cities include language in their aendas giving required notice.   Sample notices follow.  Number (1) is applicable only to entities employing 50 or more people.

1.         The City of _________________ does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission or access to its programs or activities.  (Name of employee, address, telephone number, fax number) has been designated to coordinate compliance with the non-discrimination requirements contained in the Department of Justice regulations implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), including Section 35.107.  Information concerning the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the rights provided thereunder are available from the above-named person.

2.         The City of __________________ does not discriminate on the basis of disability.  Persons with impaired vision or hearing or with other disabilities who desire assistance in attendance or participation in meetings should contact the City Secretary.
