Carvan E. Adkins Born in Abilene, Texas in 1957. He obtained his B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1980, and his M.B.A., and J.D. degrees from Texas Tech University in 1984. Mr. Adkins' practice consists primarily of two general areas of presentation. First, he and the firm represent and provide legal counsel to a variety of public entities. He personally serves as General Counsel to the Tarrant County Mental health Mental Retardation Center and the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board. The position of general counsel to public entities necessarily involves addressing a variety of legal issues on behalf of the public entities and their employees. Mr. Adkins' second general area of practice is in the area of employment law addressing employment issues and disputes from the job interview to post-termination litigation. In this regard, Mr. Adkins has represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Commission on Human Rights, the United States Merit Systems Protection Board, and the State and Federal courts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Tarrant County Bar Association. He is certified as a mediator in compliance with Title 7, Chapter, Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, and the policies and procedures for training as defined by the Texas Mediation Trainer Roundtable Standards.
